1.0 Overview

DNK Services Ltd has developed this Privacy Policy to explain how we may collect, retain, process, share and transfer your Personal Data when you visit our Sites or use our Services.  This Privacy Policy is designed to help you obtain information about our privacy practices and to help you understand your privacy choices when you use our Sites and Services.

2.0 Your Data and how we use it

We collect your data for the purposes of being able to give you an accurate quote for the product that you are looking for.  Quotations will be valid for 30 days and your details will be held on our system for this period.  If you decide not to purchase from us once you have obtained a quote, you have the right to ask for your data to be removed from our system, please see ‘4.0 Right to be forgotten’. 
If you decide to purchase from us, this purchase then forms a contract between DNK Services Ltd (the seller) and you (the buyer).  For accounting purposes, we are then legally required to hold your data on file for 6 years.
Your personal data is only forwarded to third parties or otherwise given over if this is necessary to the completion of the contract or the invoice, or upon your prior consent. In the context of order processing, the service providers we use (e.g. suppliers) receive the necessary data. The forwarded data may only be used by our service providers in order to perform their task. Any other use of this information is not permissible and would not occur with any of the service providers appointed by us.
Why do we hold your personal data?

We do not collect any Sensitive Data about you. Sensitive data refers to data that includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and bio-metric data. We do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

  • The right to erasure - The right to be forgotten entitles the data subject to have the data controller erase his/her personal data.  Please email gdpr@dnkservices.co.uk requesting this action.  Due to the nature of the products that we make and that all products are made to a custom measurement, once an order has been requested and paid for we are unable to cancel the transaction.  As per paragraph 2.0, once an order has been placed you are then entering a contract with DNK Services Ltd.
  • The right to restrict processing - have the right to request the restriction or suppression of their personal data.  This is not an absolute right and only applies in certain circumstances
  • The right to data portability - the right to receive personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine- readable format.
  • The right to object - this means, if you do not believe it is in your interest you can object to us processing your Personal Data

This website collects and uses personal information for the following reasons:

5.1 Use of IP address

An IP address is a number that’s automatically assigned to your computer whenever you’re surfing the web. Web servers automatically identify your computer by its IP address. On occasions, we collect IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, to analyse aggregate information, and to audit the use of our website. 

5.2 Use of cookies

We use cookies to help us better understand which parts of our website our users find useful and to make improvements where needed.  Cookies are informational files used for transferring information from a website to an individual's hard drive for record keeping purposes.  Cookies save your preferences whilst visiting our website, they are used on most major websites as an industry standard.  The use of cookies shows us how and when visitors use our site, cookies help us to see which areas are popular and which are not.  Whilst these activities are dependent on the use of cookies, visitors to our website have the option of disabling cookies via their browser preferences.  Most browsers are initially set up to activate cookies, however you can reset your browsers to refuse cookies or indicate when a cookie id being sent.  Please note, if you refuse cookies some parts of our website may not function properly or may be considerably slower.

5.3 3rd Party Cookies - Site Visitation Tracking

Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to see their journey through the website.
 
Although GA records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you, but Google do not grant us access to this. We consider Google to be a third party data processor (see section 8.0 below). User data will be retained for a period of 18 months which allows us to compare our business year on year.
 
GA makes use of cookies, details of which can be found on Google’s developer guides. FYI our website uses the analytics.js implementation of GA.
 
Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop GA from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.
 

5.4 Contact Forms and Email Links

Should you choose to contact us using the contact form on our Contact us page or an email link like this one, none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website or passed to / be processed by any of the third party data processors defined in section 8.0. Instead the data will be collated into an email and sent to us over the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). Our SMTP servers are protected by TLS (sometimes known as SSL) meaning that the email content is encrypted using SHA-2, 256-bit cryptography before being sent across the internet. The email content is then decrypted by our local computers and devices.
  

6.0 How we Store your Personal Information 

Your information is stored on a secure server which can only be accessed by employees of DNK Services Ltd and the developers of the DNK Services Ltd website.  All personnel with access to these systems have been fully briefed in relation to GDPR and will only use your information for the purposes that it is intended and will not share, sell or disclose your information for any purposes other than the purpose it was given.
Pseudonymisation is a recent requirement of the GDPR which many web application developers are currently working to fully implement. We are committed to keeping it as a high priority and will implement it on this website as soon as we are able to.

This website is hosted by Heart Internet within a UK data centre, they are located in Nottingham.
All traffic (transfer of files) between this website and your browser is encrypted and delivered over HTTPS.
 

8.0 Our Third Party Data Processors

We use a number of third parties to process personal data on our behalf. These third parties have been carefully chosen and all of them comply with the legislation set out in section 3.0. All 3 of these third parties are based in the USA and are EU-U.S Privacy Shield compliant. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit.
